These decoders are used to decode signals received from a network and distribute the decoded signals to users.
The exchange of information between computers on a network can be described in terms of between a "transmitter" and a "receiver". In video applications, the information being exchanged contains video data and the services provided by the transmitter are associated with the processing and transmission of the video data.
In audio applications, the information being exchanged contains audio data and the services provided by the transmitter are associated with the processing and transmission of the audio data.
A bulk decoder coupled to a network decodes data received from the network and transmits the decoded data to an interconnect for distribution to a plurality of users.
The number and type of bulk decoders may be adjusted in accordance with system load.
